Palma
Mallorca's capital city of Palma is well worth a visit. Amongst the many things to
see there are :
La Seu - the city's magnificent 14th Century Cathedral
Parc de la Mar - a charming park with fantastic views over the waterfront
Almundaina Palace - a former royal residence
Museu d'Art Espanyol Contemporani - a contemporary museum housing works
by Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali
Harbour front - a vibrant, busy harbour
Placa Major - a 19th century square with an array of market stalls, restaurants
and street performers
Beaches and Watersports
Mallorca's wonderful beaches have crystal clear water and golden sand. There are plenty of
beaches to choose from as well as quiet secluded coves for those looking to escape the crowds.
The island offers a wide array of watersports. In addition to parasailing, waterskiing and jet skiing,
the island also has excellent centres for diving, fishing and sailing.
Caves
No trip to Mallorca is complete without a visit to its amazing caves. There are over 200
on the island and a handful are open to the public. The caves have immense stalagmites and stalactites
and many have magnificent underground lakes. Guided tours of the caves are available and occasionally
short concerts are held in the vast underground chambers.
Amusement and Water Parks
Aquacity with its pools and exciting water slides is very popular with children.
Marineland is a great day out for all the family and is one of the islands most popular attractions.
The centre is home to a vast array of marine life including dolphins, sea lions, sharks and crocodiles.
Mallorcan Pearls
Mallorca is famous for its beautiful pearls and there are plenty of shops where they can
be viewed and purchased.
