Spain - Costa Tropical - La Herradura |
| |
| |
| |
The beautiful Spanish village of La Herradura is located on the
Costa Tropical between Nerja and Almuñecar. The village is unspoilt and retains much
of its
original charm.
La Herradura translates as " The Horseshoe " which aptly describes the shape
of
the bay that sits between the two headlands, Punta del la Mona and Cerro Gordo. The
beach is about a mile long and is an ideal place to enjoy many watersports including
sailing and windsurfing. There are a number of businesses along the front that offer
equipment hire and courses and there are also two scuba diving schools. Other activities
the area has to offer include tennis, walking, horse riding and hang gliding. There are
also two golf courses within a half hour drive.
The town itself stretches along the beach road, where there are a number of bars and
restaurants. The village also has small supermarkets, medical services, a pharmacy and a
bookshop. However, it is not the place to come if you are looking for thrilling nightlife
or a party atmosphere. |
