Over the last 20 years Benalmadena has grown rapidly in size and
has become a popular destination, especially with the British many of whom have second homes
here or have settled on a permanent basis. The town has numerous attractions for visitors
including the Tivoli World theme park, Sea Life centre, Selwo Marina with its penguins and
dolphins as well as a cable car ride which offers spectacular views of the coastline.
Benalmadena can be divided into three separate districts :
Pueblo ( the old village )
Many foreigners have moved into this area of the town which has consequently seen a
considerable amount of building work in recent years. It has nevertheless maintained much
of its charm.
Arroyo de la Miel
This is the commercial centre of Benalmadena and separates the pueblo from the coast.
Benalmadena Costa
This coastal district has numerous beaches, hotels and popular attractions including the
famous Aquarium. |
