Golf on the Costa Calida is now a major industry. There has been a big increase
in golf courses in this area along with the already established courses, such as the
La Manga club resort. And this allows for a big choice. If coupled with the neighbouring Costa Blanca the golfing market here is now hot on the heels of
the Costa del Sol & the Algarve. The type of courses range from easy-difficult & cheap-expensive.
La Manga Club has three 18-hole courses and is one of the worlds great resorts. There are 1,400 lushious acres, with thousands of palm trees throughout the grounds and surrounded by lemon groves. Due to demand it is always advisable
to book in advance as turning up on the day could prove disappointing.
As in many parts of Spain, lots of the festivals that take place on the Costa Calida correspond to a particular period in the regions history. Some of the festivals may start at one end of the coast and work their way to the other end so as not to coincide.
