Located on the Mediterranean coast between Alicante and Valencia,
Denia is a picturesque, cosmopolitan town, enjoying almost year round sunshine. The town
sits
at the foot of a hill crowned by a castle, from which fantastic views can be enjoyed. There has
been some expansion to Denia in recent years, due to the general popularity of the Costa Blanca,
but Denia has managed to retain its charm and small town authenticity.
Denia boasts an impressive 20 kms of sandy, blue flag awarded beaches and rocky coves,
proving very popular with tourists and locals over the summer season. The beaches to the
north of the town are of fine sand with shallow waters, whereas to the south lies a cluster
of small coves known as Les Rotes, frequented by fishermen and divers.
With an abundance of coastline, water sports are very popular in Denia. Sailing, windsurfing,
diving, swimming, fishing, rowing are all available. Denias marina offers 546 moorings and
a full range of services and equipment. For those preferring land based activities there
are plenty to choose from including mountain climbing, hang-gliding, mountain biking
and hiking. There is also an 18-hole golf
club in the vicinity, the Club La Sella,
designed by José Maria Olazabal.
