Alicante lies in the Costa Blanca on the east coast of Spain.
Famous for its miles of sandy beaches, Alicante is one of Spains popular tourist destinations,
receiving millions of visitors through its airport and its harbour each year and is one
if the fastest-growing cities in Spain. Its economy is based upon tourism, wine production,
services and administration.
The area is known for its excellent weather, with the average winter temperature being
around 16 ºC. In summer the average is around 32 ºC.
With many historical buildings around the entire city, Alicante offers countless sightseeing
attractions, from cathedrals to churches and a wonderful harbour area where you can take a
trip to the beautiful island of Tabarca. Along the Alicante harbor you will find beautiful
long alleys lined with café bars for nice relaxing walks, enjoying spectacular
sights and the mild climate. The shopping is also excellent, as is dining out, with
Paella being the regional speciality. |
