| The only man-made tourist attraction is the Zoo safari at La Lajita a small fishing village. There are over 200 species of birds, monkeys, lizards and crocodiles plus many more.
For nature lovers and walkers a visit to the volcanic island of Lobos is a must. You can get a ferry from Corralejo harbour to the island which only takes about half an hour and runs regularly throughout the day all year round! It is reported that the Lobos Island, has a population of one - the lighthouse keeper! If you like diving don't miss this place, it's one of the best spots in the Canaries to let loose.
Fuerteventura has lots of sightseeing natural attractions, like its beautiful diverse landscape from miles of white sandy beaches with crystal blue sea lapping onto them, to miles of amazing white sand dunes, tropical fauna and flora and barren mountainous land.
Fuerteventura offers a full array of water sport activities from surfing to whale watching, and deep sea fishing but much of it at a much slow pace of life than normal. Fuerteventura´s only golf course opened in 2002 and is situated in the popular resort of Caleta de Fuste. There are several others planned Fuerteventura will soon become yet another must stay for the golfer.
