With its hugely diverse scenery and well preserved cultural and architectural heritage,
its insatiable nightlife and abundance of fiestas. Spain has a vibrancy and beauty that

Situated in the south west corner of Europe, Spain covers the largest part of the Iberian

foreign armies including the Romans and the Phoenicians. The Moors then arrived from North
Africa in the 8th century and ruled much of Spain until Christian forces reconquered the
country in the 15th century. Despite the best efforts of many Spanish rulers to introduce
a common culture, the country still remains as culturally diverse as ever. Many people,
in particular Catalans and Basques, do not even consider themselves to be Spanish.
