Portugal - Algarve - Silves

At the beginning of the monarchy Silves was a state capital of Algarve but lost in the 15th century a lot of its meaning.

The main branches of trade are agriculture, production of dry fruits and the cork Getting There.

Around Silves there are some very fertile valleys in which mainly oranges are cultivated.

The south extends until the parish Armação de Pêra, a beach village with some international hotels.
