Created by fishermen from the north of Portugal it has only been raised to a municipal town in the 19th century.
Long sand beaches, the clear and calm waters of the protected area
" Ria Formosa ", fruit trees, which extend up to the hill into the interior, as well as the many white chimneys on the houses determine the picture.
The parishes of Fuzeta, Moncarapacho, Pechão and Quelfes belong to this municipality.
The fishing port of Olhão is still one of the most important in our country and from here you can go by boat to many different islands where you can enjoy the sun and the warm water. |
