Florida is known as " The Sunshine State " and has
no trouble in living up to its nickname with an average of 9 hours of sunshine a day from
March through to the beginning of September.
Spring ( March - May )
Temperatures at this time of year average at 28ºC and there are about 9 hours
of sunshine a day. It is fairly dry with about 22 dry days each month.
Summer ( June - August )
The summer months in Florida are usually hot and humid with average temperatures
of up to 31ºC (although coastal areas are normally slightly cooler than inland). There
is also a fair amount of rainfall taking the average number of dry days a month down to 15.
Autumn ( September - November )
Autumn is the wettest season, especially the month of September when there are only
about 11 dry days. However there is still plenty of sunshine, with an average of 7 hours a
day.
Winter ( December - February )
Floridian winters are generally mild, with dry and sunny conditions. The average
temperature is 25ºC, although the coastal regions are normally slightly warmer than
inland areas. |
